I am blessed with lots of very dear friends, albeit spread around the world, so some of them I meet too seldom. However, one of them lives in Kävlinge and of course I wanted to see him while here.
We sat here until 23.00 talking, eating and drinking a nice wine. I love the light Nordic summer nights!!! Thanks Thomas!
The following day I had the priviledge of seeing him again, this time at his work.
Along this gorgeous harbour in Lomma he opened a ... hmmm ... don't really know how to translate Sillaluda ... a sort of restaurant with pretty much only herring and salmon. Well, I say 'only', meaning the most fabulous fish dish ever - fried herring with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam. Yeah, I know, it might not sound so great in your ears, but believe you me ... IT IS! For anyone who has the opportunity, go to Lomma harbour, walk along the quay until you get to Sillakungen. Be sure to be hungry when you arrive ... we were!
We had to go for a walk before going back ... let all that good food settle ...
Sweden is indeed fantastic ;)
So, the observant reader might have noticed the last bit of the heading ...
30 years ago, well, according to a couple of class mates from ... 30 years ago ... decided to arranged a reunion. First step: start a facebook group! That way they found almost all of us! :-D
We met in Borstahusen at Restaurant Pumphuset and had a hilarious evening that ended too soon!
Lena greeted us and reminded us what the world looked like in 1984 - it somehow does not seem that long ago to me ... but I suppose it actually is.
He wanted to take me out for dinner on a sunny (again!!!) Sunday evening - absolutely no problem with me. As I was walking towards the restaurant we had decided he came towards me and we could walk together. At the door he suddenly prevented me from going in and said that he had made other plans for the evening. Ok, let's go. We continued walking towards the river that runs through Kävlinge, to a place where he has spent many many hours in the early mornings listening to birds with a fishing rod in hand. His car was parked there and from it he produced a picnic basket, a blanket and ... toilet paper? "Well, in case of emergency ..." :-)
This is what was in the basket! We sat here until 23.00 talking, eating and drinking a nice wine. I love the light Nordic summer nights!!! Thanks Thomas!

We have not changed a bit! ;-)
Lena (there were 3 in that class) and Eva as happy as ever! Lena moved to Halmstad and Eva to Beijing.
After a while I had to go outside with my camera (read mobile phone) ...
Pictures taken around 21.30.
If anyone recognizes the motif you have seen it a few blog posts ago.
The evening was a complete success and we are all looking forward to the next anniversary ... 60 years then?
