Rama Navami - राम नवमी

Yesterday was a day off - Rama Navami was celebrated.
Rama Navami (Devanāgarī: राम नवमी) also known as Sri Rama Navami (IAST Śri Rāma navamī) is a Hindu festival, celebrating the birth of the god Rama to King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya in Ayodhya. Rama is the oldest known god having human form. It is also considered the 7th avatar of Vishnu. The holy day falls in the Shukla Paksha on the Navami, the ninth day of the month of Chaitra in the Hindu calendar. Thus it is also known as Chaitra Masa Suklapaksha Navami, and marks the end of the nine-day Chaitra-Navaratri (Vasanta Navaratri) celebrations. Rama navami is one of the most important festivals of the Hindus.

There you are! Freshly nicked from Wikipedia.
We went to check out a few grocery stores to see what is on offer. First we went to Spenser on MG Road. Looks pretty much like any grocery store in Europe or US, but with plenty of people who work there and can help! Well, I say help ... they really want to, and they cannot say "I don't understand what you mean" or "I don't speak much English", so there is plenty of room for misunderstandings :-)

Turns out we can get Cadbury's, Maggi soups, Nutella (!),Weetabix, Kinderegg and much more.

Next stop was Le Marché Sugar & Spice.

Also really nice and they do home delivery, which seems to be popular, especially during the hot season.
I think that is Ian's favourite, because he found
